Frequently Asked Questions

1.     Does a pure iron tawa increase iron content in food?
Yes. Cooking on pure iron cookware can naturally increase iron intake, especially when cooking moist foods. This is one reason iron tawas are traditionally used.

2.      Is the wooden handle safe for regular cooking?
Yes. The wooden handle is securely fixed and stays cooler than metal handles. It improves grip and makes the tawa easier to handle during cooking.

3.      Can this iron tawa be used on gas stove?
Yes. This pure iron round tawa is designed for gas stove cooking and works efficiently on direct flame.

4.      Does pure iron tawa rust easily?
Pure iron can rust if left wet. Drying the tawa after washing and applying a thin layer of oil prevents rust and keeps the surface in good condition. For more information on maintenance read our guide to iron and cast iron cookware.
